System Requirements

NOTE:  You do need a webcam compatible with your computer before using SAM Animation. We do not install webcam-specific software, so you need to check with the manufacturer of your webcam to determine if additional software needs to be installed.  However, we actually recommend webcams that do not require additional software.

 For PC Users:

Windows XP or 7 with Quicktime 7.1 or higher and a graphics card with OpenGL 1.2 support.  Note SAM Animation does run intermittently on Vista as well, but we do not gaurantee ideal functionality.  In addition, we recommend at minimum 512 MB of RAM.

 For Mac Users:

10.4 or higher with Quicktime 7.1 or higher.

 For Linux Users:

Unfortunately, SAM Animation does not work on Linux machines.  Sorry for any inconvenience!

Upgrades from Older Versions (1.2 or 1.3)

Are you using an older version of the SAM Animation software and wish to upgrade?  If you have 1.2 you cannot unfortunately upgrade.  However, if you have 1.3 that you purchased from iCreate, then you can log in to your account and download the latest version from your account page.

If you purchased the HUE Animation pack or downloaded from SAMAnimation.com, then you have an older version of the software from when it was still a research project…so to get the latest upgrade with both new features and bug fixes, we recommend you download 1.4.1 here!
